The first fully electric Mercedes-Benz minivan - EQV - has arrived in Latvia

The Mercedes-Benz EQV is the first high-performance fully electric minivan. With reach of up to 418 kilometers, the EQV sets a benchmark in its class. It offers the same versatility and functionality of the interior as the Class V with internal combustion engine, while combining it with the benefits of a zero-emission vehicle. As a result, the EQV is equally well-suited for family and leisure needs, as well as being a prestigious company vehicle for VIP transport.

"EQV is a unique car that does not yet have equal competitors. This car from A to Z is built as part of the electric mobility ecosystem, including active accessibility management and a wide range of cloud application services, ”says Vitalijs Ročans, Member of the Board of SIA Domenikss. “EQV, like the V-Class, has 6-8 passenger seats, as well as MBUX (Mercedes Benz User Experience). Thanks to the car's battery under the floor, the luggage compartment achieves an impressive capacity of up to 1,410 liters, and the car is provided with an optimal center of gravity, which in turn is reflected in excellent low-energy dynamics. ”

The combined EQV energy consumption is 26.4-26.3 kWh / 100 km, with a maximum torque of 362 Newton meters. The maximum power of the electric motor is 150 kW, or 204 horsepower. The engine is powered by a water-cooled lithium-ion battery with a net power of 90 kWh.

For optimal energy consumption, an AIRMATIC air suspension is available that automatically adjusts the ground clearance. Lowering it at a higher speed reduces the resistance, thus having a positive effect on electricity consumption and reach.

The EQV control center is an MBUX infotainment system with a special EQ menu, which is operated from the vehicle via high-resolution 10.25-inch touch screens. However, the route can also be planned remotely in advance using the Mercedes me application.

"This means that when you are at the breakfast table, for example, you choose the final destination and departure time. When you arrive in the car, it is ready, including a comfortable temperature in the cabin. At the beginning of the journey, the MBUX updates the route sent to the vehicle by the Mercedes me app, taking into account current traffic and weather conditions, the topography of the route, the current battery charge level and available charging stations, ”continues Rochan, Domenix Board Member. “The intelligent navigation system constantly responds to changes, such as the driver's driving style, which affects consumption, and always chooses a route with several charging points, giving preference to fast charging stations. It also prepares the battery for the charging process in good time.”

EQV's standard equipment allows the battery to be charged both with AC power, for example at home or in public charging stations with a capacity of up to 11 kW, and with DC power in fast charging stations with a capacity of up to 110 kW.

0-100% AC charging takes less than 10 hours. In turn, charging with DC in a fast charging station from up to 80% will take only 45 minutes.

"These parameters show that EQV is able to function fully both on longer journeys on the Baltic scale and within the city and suburbs, charging between journeys," said V. Ročans.

The Mercedes-Benz EQV is a thoughtful car down to the smallest detail, including driving modes. There are four in total.

  • D, or Drive, is the most efficient of the driving modes, when the car makes optimal use of power according to the set level. In D mode, the maximum available power (150 kW) is combined with recuperation, or energy recovery. This happens when the machine is idling. At the D + level, on the other hand, energy is saved by using the engine braking force instead of recuperation, but at the D - - level the motor provides the maximum recuperative force - 2 m / s.
  • The C, or Comfort, setting provides full drive power and maximum torque along with high heating and air conditioning performance.
  • E, or Economy, offers both optimized power consumption (100 kW) and optimized heating and air conditioning mode. In turn, the E + program will provide the greatest possible reach, as the engine will run at reduced power (80 kW), and heating and air conditioning will also be significantly reduced.
  • Finally, the S, or Sport, mode emphasizes the best accelerator response with maximum power and torque, combined with powerful heating and air conditioning.
