Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new Mercedes CLA at CES-2019

The German automaker gave an online presentation of the next generation Mercedes-Benz CLA, presenting the CLA 250.

During the debut, the representatives of the brand reported that the new model was built on the MFA platform, created specifically for compact cars. Thanks to the use of the new chassis, the next-generation CLA has become larger, and its interior has become more spacious. At the same time, the drag coefficient of the second-generation Mercedes-Benz CLA is 0.23.

The equipment of the Mercedes-Benz CLA 2019 includes boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The sedan now has a sloping roof line and new sport bumpers too.

However, the most attention was paid to the newest multimedia system MBUX, which was first presented in the fourth-generation of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The artificial intelligence is able to self-educate and over time, it will be able to understand even complex commands. In addition, thanks to the sensors built into the screen, the interior light can be turned on by the wave of a hand. This system is called Interior Assistant.

A seven-inch digital instrument cluster is combined with an infotainment system display of the same size.

The CLA 250, which the automaker demonstrated at the exhibition, is equipped with a 2.0-litre gasoline engine with four cylinders. The power output is 225 horsepower, and the torque is 350 Nm. This engine is combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car is equipped with a multi-link rear suspension and an anti-roll bar.
