Ecofriendlier – the new Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV and coupé are coming to Latvia

Already known for outstanding on- and off-road performance, spaciousness, practicality and comfort combined with a new control configuration, MBUX infotainment system, improved engine range and more stylish design – the new Mercedes-Benz GLC comes in two successful models, the SUV and Coupé, an improved version, reveals Renārs Agarskis, Retail Director of SIA Domenikss, General Representative of Daimler AG in Latvia.

Drive system
The GLC Series models are equipped with the next generation of Mercedes-Benz petrol and diesel engines. The 48-volt system with EQ Boost provides petrol engines with additional features to reduce fuel consumption while improving manoeuvrability and comfort. “The new GLCs are extremely environmentally friendly, not only due to the reduced fuel consumption for petrol engines. All diesel variants already comply with Euro 6d RDE Real Driving Emissions Stage 2, which will be mandatory on all new models as of 1 January 2020, and one year later on all other vehicles,” says Renārs Agarskis.

 Driving support systems and suspension
The GLC and GLC Coupé can be driven in semi-autonomous mode in certain situations. The familiar features from the S class are available in the control support package.
As an alternative to the standard AGILITY CONTROL suspension, the DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL steel suspension with adjustable damping is available for the first time on the GLC SUV. The AIR BODY CONTROL pneumatic suspension provides even greater comfort and versatility.

Infotainment system
As standard, the GLC and GLC Coupé are equipped with MBUX, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience Algorithm for Collaboration with the user, featuring advanced functions with Hey Mercedes voice control. An optional MBUX Internal Assistant is also available. “These features make control easier as the system recognises and distinguishes driver and front passenger hand and arm gestures, providing intuitive control with a variety of command input types such as touch control, gesture control and advanced voice control. All this is now available as standard. In addition, the Augmented Reality function for MBUX navigation adds information useful for navigation to the surrounding video,” explains Renārs Agarskis.

 Comfort and design
Optionally, the new GLC models feature ENERGIZING comfort control that combines various interior comfort systems. ENERGIZING COACH recommends programmes according to the situation. For the first time, the GLC and GLC Coupé are available with multi-contour seats.
"It should be noted that these models are also particularly visually dynamic and elegant," says Renārs Agarskis, Retail Director of SIA Domenikss. “New front and rear spoilers and a new radiator grille emphasise the character of an SUV. High-performance LED headlamps are now standard on both models, smaller and flatter than before. MULTIBEAM (multi-segment) LED headlamps are also available as an option, but the standard version also comes with modified rear-end lamps fully equipped with LED bulbs. Improvements have also been made to the interior, with high-quality displays including a digital-only instrument panel (optional) and a touch-screen multimedia display, new multifunction steering wheel, new colours and trim.”
