5 QUESTIONS BEFORE BUYING A CAR

When we are talking about buying a car, coldly pragmatic approach is impossible and that is nothing bad! Nevertheless, before you have signed a purchase contract, there are few things that are valuable to keep in mind.

When we are talking about buying a car, coldly pragmatic approach is impossible and that is nothing bad! Nevertheless, before you have signed a purchase contract, there are few things that are valuable to keep in mind.

Follow favorite, but try alternatives

No matter what encouraged you to choose specific model – design, technical specifications, brand reputation, press or friends recommendations – there are always some questions worth asking to yourself. For example – what route will be chosen on a daily basis? Will it be used for traveling? Will you go off-road with it? How much people is planned to transport with it and does it need to take large baggage regularly? Does it ever will drag a trailer?

Secondly, choose your favorite, but try alternatives. Why? Because we see car as a subject and even if we are looking to purchase a SUV, maybe sedan will surprise you with enjoyable pace particularities, but newest generation compact model will offer unexpected capacity or quality, or maybe car will seem easier to drive in city center and during traffic jams.

Financing and expenses

Who does not know that expenses must meet income and unexpected large bills can mess up your joy of driving. For that to not happen it is worth remembering that the costs must be added to the monthly lease payment, not only lease payment. Remember, there are also insurance, expenses for fuel, planned services, taxes and charge for a parking lot. Don’t be ashamed to ask dealer about maintenance costs – that will only requires few minutes. How to finance the car purchase – with credit, finance or operational leasing? You need to decide individually, but remember - operational leasing or rent is available for used cars too.

Fuel consumption

Believe – everyone is thinking about fuel consumption and harmful emissions, even wealthier car buyers. That raises the question what engine to choose. If planned distance will not exceed 15 000 km per year, maybe it is not so bad idea to buy car with a huge engine. If the car will roll 25 000 km and more, it is worth to consider model version with economic diesel engine. If car on average will drive around the city, a good pick would be a small car with moderate power engine or even hybrid.

Oh, yes, equipment!

Modern car is rolling technology demonstration! Navigation never been as accurate and visual informative, multi-mode suspension ‘’delete’’ undulations of road, ventilation and in seats built-in massage mechanism makes driving like dream. But be careful pulling ticks in equipment list, because when loosing feeling of mayor, the car can become more and more expensive. Not sure what and what not to choose? Ask the dealer!

And the remaining value of the car will be…?

Maybe a car is not the best investment in the world, but when buying a new car it is worth to think about: will it be worth to sell it and the money use as payment for next car? If speech is not about some exclusive models, that has small production, principle is simple – the simplest the car is, the better. Extravagant color, eccentric interior, powerful, but uneconomical engine? These are the things that will give joy to the first car owner, but unlikely address used car buyer.
