Four-seater cabriolets or convertibles occupy a very special place in the vast range of models in the automotive industry and are believed to be among the most graceful cars ever designed. Mercedes-Benz can boast of the vivid history of its cabriolet models as well as with the abundant offers of today.

S-Class cabriolet – a treasure for collectors

As early as the 1920s, the Stuttgart luxury class cabriolets managed to combine the feeling of freedom one can enjoy in open cars with safety and comfort that up to then was the privilege of sedans. After the war the premier models of Mercedes-Benz were available in an exclusive convertible format, and 170 S (W 136, 1949), 220 S (W 187, 1951) and 300 S (W 188, 1952) became much admired items in the city streets and on roads.

The legendary Ponton carried on the success of these models. In 1961, the W 111 series 220 SE cabriolet turned into a special sensation. The elegant design of the car and its unprecedented comfort and luxury instantly made it a must-have for collectors.

This is a paradox indeed that this model did not have any direct successors for more than 40 years until late in 2015, when Mercedes-Benz made its global announcement of the S-Class cabriolet. This is some car! It has a super strong body, the roof comes down and goes up in a mere 20 seconds; moreover, you can do it when driving at up to 60 km/h. Its aerodynamic shape with a minute air resistance force makes it the quietest cabriolet in the world.

The S-Class cabriolet is equipped with the Mercedes-Benz smart systems, including the THERMOTRONIC fully automated interior heating system. This system relies on 12 sensors in order to provide comfort for the driver and passengers, and it is capable of managing the air flow and controlling the temperature inside the car, of a heated steering wheel, heated arm rests and front and rear seats.

The astonishing and powerful S 63 4MATIC Cabriolet is the top S-Class car. Its 5.5 litre V-8 engine capacity is 585 HP. Anything that compromises safety is unacceptable for the cabriolet: the active and passive safety systems ensure that the driver and the passengers will be well protected at all times.

C-Class cabriolet – enjoyment in accessible format

Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a car that represents the values of the brand in a compact and accessible format. This summer, the C-Class début is a four-seater cabriolet. A sporty four-seater has been designed guided by the best features of a coupé.

The C-Class cabriolet is equipped with the most advanced systems for maximum comfort. AIRCAP air deflectors prevent air turbulence inside the car, and AIRSCARF air supply system creates a feeling of being wrapped in a warm air scarf, while the upholstery of seats is made from heat reflective materials. The C-Class cabriolet comes with a wide choice of engines and transmissions – from economical Diesel engines to the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S with its explosive dynamism.

Roadsters – for a sporty mood

Two-seater cabriolets – roadsters SLC and SL – are also part and parcel of the Mercedes-Benz family. Their retractable hard tops give a more secure feeling and are more practicable in nasty weather. The variety of versions and the vast selection of options allow the two models to be accommodated to any taste, guaranteeing the sensation of a two-seater sports car to absolutely any driver.
